                   FUR-EVER QUILT
   Finished size: 31" wide x 51" long

Materials:

7" HazelRose Loom www.hazelroselooms.com
1 yard 36" wide fleece fabric (for blocks)
2 yards 36" wide matching fleece fabric (for back)
2 yards 36" wide light weight batting
Matching thread
540 yards VIP Keepsake© Yarn (or 22 oz. raw fiber to be spun Sport Weight)

Following the instructions provided with the 7" HazelRose Loom, weave 20 squares from your
VIP Keepsake© Yarn. Set aside.

Cut the 1 yard fleece fabric into twenty 7"x7" squares.

On a large flat surface, layout the squares, alternating VIP blocks with fabric blocks.  Working one row at a time, stitch the blocks together to form a strip of 5 blocks across. You now have 8 strips.  Stitch each strip together to complete the quilt top.

Layer the following items on a flat surface:  batting, backing face up, and the quilt top face down.  Pin through all 3 layers in the center and all four sides.  Edges of the backing and batting should be larger than the quilt top.  Trim backing and batting to the same size as the quilt top.  Stitch around all four sides, leaving a 10" opening on one end.  Note: be sure to sew through all 3 layers!  Remove the pins and turn right-side out.  Blind stitch the opening closed.

Thread a large eye needle with left over yarn. Tying is always done from the top of the quilt, with one hand underneath to make sure the needle goes through all thicknesses.  As you work from the top, take as small a stitch down one corner and back up through all layers of cloth at the adjacent corner of a square. Leave a two-inch tail of thread, take a second stitch over the first, tie a square knot and pull it tight. Repeat the tying process until all 4 corners of each block are tied.

                             QUICK KNIT BELLS

These cute little bells are not only quick to make (you can make several in an evening) but require only 27 yards (or one ounce of raw fiber) to make!

Hang them on your tree, decorate packages, attach one to your pet's collar
.

  • Approximately 1 oz of raw fiber spun any thickness.
  • Knitting needles sized to match your yarn.
  • 1 gold or silver jingle bell.
  • Crochet hook (sized to match your yarn).
  • Embellishments

Pattern Notes
The thickness of your yarn and the size of your needles will determine the size of the bell.
The bell is knitted on it's side.  The purl stitches will form the "brim" of the bell.  When knitted, fold the long piece in half, stitch up the side seam with the pearl stitches on the bottom and gather the top to close.

Cast on 14 sts.
Row 1 and all odd rows: Knit 10, purl 4
Row 2 and all even rows: Knit all 14 sts
Repeat above until there is 21 ridges. End on an even row. Bind off loosely, leaving a long tail. Stitch up side seam. (Note: the purl stitches are the bottom rim) Using a running stitch pick up the loops at the top of the bell and pull tight to close the bell top. With a crochet hook, chain double the length of the desired loop, slip stitch to top of bell. Thread remaining yarn through the center top and tie on a jingle bell.

Decorate as desired.
